Yuen Long Jiao Festival 2023

December 2–18, 2023

The festival marks its 100th anniversary in 2023. It has been held once every 10 years in Yuen Long since 1923. The ritual involves praying and requesting deities to bestow peace and harmony in the neighbourhood. A bamboo hut is built to enshrine the Gods and is open to believers for worship.

The Impossible Trial – a musical

Nov 30 – December 24, 2023

The musical is co-presented and co-produced by the West Kowloon Cultural District and Hong Kong Repertory Theatre. Since its successful premiere, the show returns for a highly anticipated rerun in 2023. The story is about Fong Tong Geng, who is known for his greed and malice. Haunted by the bitter ghost of a childhood friend, Fong fights to right his wrongs and redeem himself as the champion of the common man.

Hong Kong Marathon 2024

Hong Kong Marathon 2024

January 21, 2024

The Hong Kong Marathon is an annual sports event with the highest participation rate in the city. This year marks its 26th anniversary. The race features three categories: 10 km/6 mile, Half-Marathon (21 km/13 mile), and Marathon (42 km/26 mile). Every year, thousands of local runners and overseas elites participate in this IAAF Gold Label race.

Organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the National Gallery, London, “Botticelli to Van Gogh” is the first showcase of the Gallery’s prestigious painting collection in Hong Kong. It features 52 of the world’s finest masterpieces by 50 influential artists including Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Goya, Turner, Constable, Monet and Van Gogh.
