Story behind “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In”

Following the success of the award-winning Hong Kong action film “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In”, stunningly true-to-life movie sets from the movie are now on display at its original location - the present-day Kowloon Walled City Park.

The three-year “Kowloon Walled City: A Cinematic Journey” Movie Set Exhibition recreates key scenes from the big box office hit, including the barber shop, dental and bone-setting clinic, fish-ball factory and more, as well as some immersive designs that recreate sights and sounds of planes flying low overhead, exactly like what it used to be in the old days!

The movie was an adaptation of the novel “Kowloon Walled City" which was one of the best sellers at the time. The novel was transformed into comics which became very popular and drew the attention of filmmakers. Watch the program “A Vivid Imagination – the novel City of Darkness” produced by the Intellectual Property Department and RTHK on how the paperback has successfully achieved cross-media development through copyright licensing, transforming the intellectual properties of the novel into a popular comic and film franchise.
