Since the birth of Hong Kong's first giant panda cubs in August and the arrival of two giant pandas in September, a giant panda craze has swept across the city. On December 8, An An and Ke Ke, the two giant pandas gifted to Hong Kong by the Central Government, made their highly anticipated public debut at Ocean Park Hong Kong, much to the delight of visitors. Panda fans around the world can also enjoy the excitement by watching a newly launched live broadcast of An An and Ke Ke on the Ocean Park website during designated time slots.
Meanwhile, a series of promotional activities themed "Come and Enjoy a Pandastic Hong Kong" is being held to create a joyful atmosphere for welcoming the giant pandas. Hong Kong's largest panda exhibition, PANDA GO! FEST HONG KONG, has soon become the talk of the town. The exhibition showcases 2,500 panda sculptures and their life-size member, PANDA GO! GUIDE, greet Hong Kong people and visitors at iconic landmarks such as Avenue of Stars and Ngong Ping 360 with four exhibitions and surprise activities throughout the city in December.
Another key event is the HELLO PANDAS Carnival, an outdoor event themed around giant pandas to be held from December 11 to 21 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazzas. Combining creativity and fun, the carnival seamlessly integrates elements of art, culture and gastronomy, showcasing the unique charm and vitality of pandas. Hong Kong's first-ever display of a giant floating panda installation is set to be the visual centerpiece of the carnival.
