Fast and furious action at Hong Kong E-Prix

The HKT Hong Kong E-Prix, the world's only electric street racing series, saw plenty of drama, thrills and spills. On a rainy Sunday (March 10) in Hong Kong, fans witnessed punctured tyres, collisions, exhilaration and disappointment.  Finally, Swiss driver Edoardo Mortara of Venturi Formula E team was declared winner.  Eight of the 22 drivers from 11 teams, who had to navigate a skidding 1.86km track with 10 tricky turns in Central District, failed to finish.

This race season also saw the debut of Formula E Gen2 cars, which can hit a top speed of 280km/h. The exciting Formula E series, which demonstrates the potential of eco-friendly mobility, was hosted by Hong Kong for the third time, further endorsing the city’s status as a sporting hub.
