Hong Kong Chief Secretary Visits San Francisco
Mrs Carrie Lam visited San Francisco in early June. This was her first official visit to the Bay Area in her capacity as the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.

Hong Kong can Contribute to Belt & Road
National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhang Dejiang said Hong Kong, with its unique advantages, can make important contribution to the Belt and Road initiatives.

Hong Kong Ranked World's Most Competitive Economy
Hong Kong is again ranked the world's most competitive economy, moving up from second place last year, according to the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) World Competitiveness Yearbook 2016.

Hong Kong Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury visits San Francisco Bay Area
In early May, Hong Kong Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr James Lau, visited the San Francisco Bay Area to meet with financial technology (fintech) entrepreneurs and senior executives of financial institutions. He spoke at a reception organized by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco. In addition to members of the Bay Area technology community, participants of Finovate Spring 2016 were also invited to attend the reception.
