Consultation Document on Changes to Election Methods Published
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has launched a five-month public consultation exercise on the methods for selecting the Chief Executive in 2017 and for forming the Legislative Council in 2016. The Consultation Document was published on December 4, 2013.

Hong Kong Chief Secretary Mrs Carrie Lam urged the public to forge a consensus on political reform. She said for this consultation round, the Government would not put forward any specific proposals, and would not comment on any proposals raised.

Eight Hong Kong Movies Featured in Hong Kong CinemaMore than 150 guests joined the VIP reception to kick-off the third Hong Kong Cinema in San Francisco on October 4, 2013. Among the guests was film director, Mr. Kiwi Chow, who came all the way from Hong Kong to support the film festival, which screened his first full-length feature, “A Complicated Story”, on the Closing Night on October 6.

Addressing guests and filmmakers at the Opening Night Reception, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, San Francisco Ms. Subrina Chow, said that the Office was pleased to partner with the San Francisco Film Society again this year to present an interesting selection of Hong Kong movies.

Kai Tak Fantasy International Ideas Competition – Registration Now Open
The Kai Tak Fantasy (KTF) International Ideas Competition on Urban Planning and Design was launched on November 28, 2013. Organized by the Energizing Kowloon East Office of the Development Bureau of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the competition aims to solicit creative and innovative proposals for KTF’s development into a tourism, entertainment and recreation destination for both the local community and visitors.
