Chief Executive Delivers 2014 Policy Address
On January 15, Hong Kong Chief Executive, Mr. C.Y. Leung unveiled major initiatives in his second annual Policy Address to support those in need, nurture the next generation and underpin Hong Kong’s economic future.

Mr. Leung said the Government would focus on promoting economic development as a foundation for overcoming challenges in society and unleash Hong Kong’s full potential.

“We should capitalize on, consolidate and enhance our existing advantages, strengthen co-operation with Mainland China and overseas economies in every aspect, and foster diversity and robust growth in our industries,” Mr. Leung said. Eight Hong Kong Movies Featured in Hong Kong Cinema

New Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA Appointed
On February 3, 2014, Mr. Clement Leung will take up the post of Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA, succeeding Mr. Donald Tong. As Commissioner, Mr. Leung will be the most senior representative of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in the United States.

Mr. Leung will direct constituency-building activities across the U.S. and the Hong Kong government’s efforts in strengthening and enriching Hong Kong – U.S. economic, trade, and cultural ties. .

New Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA Appointed

Three Hong Kong movies featured at Portland International Film Festival
The 37th Portland International Film Festival (PIFF), the biggest film event in Oregon, will feature three Hong Kong movies in its upcoming festival, which will run from February 6 to 22, 2014.

Audience in Portland will have the chance to see “American Dreams in China” by well-known Hong Kong film director, Peter Chan; “The Way We Dance” by Adam Wong; and “Bends” by Flora Lau. The latter two movies are recent projects supported by the Hong Kong Film Development Fund.
