About 70 teams from the United States, Canada and Germany competed at the 12th Annual San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival over a weekend in September.

“To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco proudly sponsored the ‘HKSAR 10th anniversary’ Cup for this year’s Visiting Team Championship,” said Ms Doris Cheung, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, San Francisco at the opening ceremony.

“With the unique concept of ‘One Country, Two Systems’, Hong Kong people’s way of life and freedom have remained unchanged. Hong Kong also maintains its position as a leading international financial, trading, logistics and tourism hub,” she continued.

In addition to the sponsorship, the Office also set up a ‘Hong Kong booth’ at the venue. Thousands of spectators visited the ‘Hong Kong booth’ where they got updated information about Hong Kong and won prizes including the HKSAR 10th anniversary souvenirs.
