Mr. Donald Tsang has been elected the third term Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on March 25, 2007.
The Returning Officer for the election, Mr. Justice Barnabas Fung Wah, declared on March 25 under Section 28 of the Chief Executive Ordinance that Mr. Tsang was elected as he had obtained more than half of the total number of valid votes cast.

Hong Kong Financial Secretary Mr. Henry Tang has unveiled a package of budget measures designed to “share the fruits of economic prosperity with the community” and support Hong Kong’s ongoing economic development and job creation.
The centerpiece of the Budget is a US$2.56 billion (HK$20 billion) package of tax concessions and other one-off relief measures.

Hong Kong has been ranked as the world's freest economy by the Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal for the 13th consecutive year in the 2007 Index of Economic Freedom released in January.
According to the study, Hong Kong scores extremely well in almost all areas of economic freedom.

Secretary General of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Mr. Christopher To visited the San Francisco Bay Area in January. The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco invited him to speak on “Arbitrating Chinese-Foreign Business Disputes: The Hong Kong Option” at a luncheon.
Co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Association of Northern California and the Bar Association of San Francisco, the luncheon was attended by more than 100 senior business executives, lawyers and professionals.
