SFETO supports Hawaii International Film Festival

“I’ll Call You” directed by Lam Tze Chung, “My Mother Is a Belly Dancer” directed by Lee Kung Lok and “Isabella” directed by Pang Ho Cheung were selected to be shown at the Festival.

Prior to the last screening of “Isabella”, a VIP reception was jointly hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco and the Hong Kong Business Association of Hawaii. Many business executives, representatives from the film industry and government officials from Hawaii attended the reception.

Mr. Chuck Boller, Executive Director of the Hawaii International Film Festival thanked the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office for its support of the Festival and highlighted that the Hong Kong movies were of very high standard.

Ms Doris Cheung, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco commented, “Hong Kong has a vibrant culture and a hundred years’ history of film-making. Our unique history of being the meeting point for east and west and of being wide open to the world, as well as our emphasis on free flow of information and talents make Hong Kong the ideal place for creativity and movie production.”

“As the representative of the Hong Kong Government in the US West, we will endeavor to enhance the cultural and trade ties between the two places,” she said.
