The Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in San Francisco recently helped to arrange the visit of the Mayor of Los Angeles to Hong Kong. Mayor Villraigosa led a delegation of city officials and leaders from the private and non-profit sectors to Hong Kong, China, Japan and South Korea.

During his visit to Hong Kong, Mayor Villaraigosa met with Ms. Eva Cheng, Permanent Secretary for Economic Development. At a separate meeting with Mr. Fred Lam, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Mayor Villaraigosa and Mr. Lam signed an Economic Cooperation Agreement to further enhance trade and investment between the two cities.

Earlier this year, former Permanent Secretary for Economic Development, Ms. Sandra Lee met with Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles and senior management of the port of Los Angeles when she visited Los Angeles.
