Speaking at a business luncheon, organized by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco, Mr. Tam said that Mainland China was entering a new era of fast economic growth in the international platform. Many enterprises including the Hongkong Post are able to capitalize the business opportunities through the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) signed between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Central People’s Government.

CEPA has played an important role in the economic development of both Hong Kong and the Mainland. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement, allowing Hong Kong to explore the vast Mainland market while assisting Mainland China in integrating with the world economy.

Apart from the conventional services, Hongkong Post can also serve as a “Value-added National Gateway to Postal Network of China”. Riding on Hongkong Post’s well-established infrastructure and high performance, the value-added hubbing service offered by Hongkong Post can facilitate growth of China Post’s business in the international front, Mr. Tam continued.

In terms of logistic business, Hongkong Post can perform the function of a regional logistics agent which will provide overseas communication, stock management, local delivery and value added services, serving the Greater China Region.
